- This multi-search will search the roadway standards. The user can narrow their search
to one or more of the following document collections:
- Facilities Development Manual (FDM)
- Standard
Specifications (Spec)
- Constructions
and Materials Manual (CMM)
- Contract Management System (CMS)
- What is a
boolean search?

- Boolean expressions are words (or, and, and
not, and near) used to create relationships among the keywords in your
search query. Parentheses ( ) can also be used to group expressions.
Below is a list of expressions with their corresponding symbol (you may
use either) and function:

- You can control the results of you search
with these options:

return (100 or 200)
The number of search results to be displayed per
page (10 or 25) The format of the search return (page title only or
full description)
- Some words, punctuation, and boolean
operators are ignored as search terms, or have special meanings. For
example:

these words by themselves in the "Search for" box, an error message will
display. Try your search again, using a valid word or phrase in the
"Search for" box.
Search ranking: Search ranking is based on
several criteria, including where the search term is found in the
resulting document. When doing a Near search, the ranking is affected not
only by the frequency and position of keywords, but also by their
proximity.
Searching for Culvert Pipe will
also match culvert pipe
- Searching for phrases:
- Use Exact phrases. If you know an exact
phrase, put the phrase in quotes, for example: "liquidated
damages".
- To search for a phrase that contains
quotation marks, enclose the entire phrase in quotation marks, and then
place double quotation marks where you want a quotation mark to appear.
